Most students will need the Basic
Driver Improvement option. This option
is for students that have received
a ticket and have elected to take
a Driver Improvement Course.

4 Hour Basic Driver Improvement (BDI)
- Students who are completing this course
to avoid points, insurance penalties (in
most instances) and/or to retain a “safe
driver” status in accordance with
requirements outlined in Section 318.14(9),
Florida Statutes, will select the “BDI”
option. Typically, in order to ensure that
a completion will be acceptable to the Clerk
of Court in the county where the citation
(ticket) was issued, the citation recipient
must sign an Affidavit with the Clerk of
the Court in the county where you received
the ticket. It is the students responsibility
to return the completion certificate to
the clerks office.

4 Hour Traffic Collision Avoidance Course
(TCAC) - students referred to as
“TCAC” are completing this course
in accordance with the requirements outlined
in Section 322.0261, Florida Statutes, stating
that persons involved in certain types of
traffic crashes must attend a TCAC/BDI course.
Referrals to this course are typically accompanied
by a notification in the form of a letter
sent to the driver licensee's address on
record at the Florida Department of Highway
Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV). Students
referred to TCAC courses will, in most instances
will be required to remit a copy of their
completion certificate to DHSMV.

4 Hour Court Ordered Students -
students sent to the course via court order
in most instances will be required to remit
a copy of their course completion certificate
directly to the applicable court. Floridadrivingschools.com
will provide each student with a Certificate
of Completion upon successful completion
of the course.

4 Hour Insurance Discount - In
accordance with Florida Statutes, a discount
up to 10% of an automobile insurance policy
premium may be offered to a policy holder
who completes a BDI course certified by
the Florida DHSMV as effective for these
purposes. If you are completing our course
for this purpose, we strongly recommend
that you check with your insurance company
to determine if they are offering a discount
under this section. Persons completing the
course for this purpose will receive a Certificate
of Completion for presentation to their
insurance company or authorized agent.
5.
4 Hour Business and Industry -
Many private companies and government agencies
require that an employee who operates a
company vehicle must complete a research
proven effective driver improvement program
such as the American Safety Institute Driver
Improvement as an ongoing condition of employment.
If you have been referred to our course
for these purposes, please select the “Business
and Industry”. Persons completing
the course for this purpose will be sent
a Certificate of Completion at the successful
conclusion of the course.
